As others have been saying definitely establish yourself at lower limits before getting frustrated with 5/10. When I first switched from SNGs to cash I was break even at 1/2 for a while. I would have probably lost at even 2/4 and surely would have gotten crushed at 5/10. IM me sometime if you want to talk about it as I would have a pretty good idea of what you're going through.
Oh yeah, and you have probably noticed but on average online 5/10 is far tougher than any tournament. At the ME this year probably 7-8 of the players at my first table wouldn't have had a chance at 5/10. |

i never played above $114 sngs like you and newt but i also sort of know what it's like. i moved from sngs directly to 1/2 last winter and broke even for a couple months and then took some time off poker.
the skills needed in cash are really different, stuff i didn't even think about, and i probably would have learned a lot faster had i gotten a coach. |

Thanks for all the replies so far. I have played around 40,000 hands of 2/4 nl, running at 5ptbb/100, usually 4-8 tabling. This all happened after party closed to US players and mainly on full tilt. Lately, I have been playing lots of live mtts, so I find it hard to sit down and just grind all day. I have been coached by numerous people and apparently what they are trying to teach me just doesnt sink in. Now whenever I try to play for a long peroid of time, I just get pwned over and over and get pissed and quit. I was talking to durrr and he tells me to just play lots and lots of hands 5/10 and ill get it eventually. The problem is I fear I will be broke before I figure it out, as I have been trying to figure it out for a year with no success. Thanks again for the replies.

John,
Your obv a very very good player. Just put in a bunch of hands and just adapt to the differences between live FR and online 6max and you'll prob be crushing it in no time. BTW you prob don't have that many hands at 5/10 so it could be variance to, but just play a bunch of hands and you'll get way better. |

Why not just move up to 3/6?

40k hands are nothing...
Itīs irresponsibly to move up after only 40k hands... |
