General tips for avoiding colds, etc. (?)
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for general life practices to avoid getting sick. I'm mainly talking about getting colds, the flu, etc. (ie nothing severe), but other suggestions wouldn't hurt. What I have so far: Staying well hydrated Multi vitamin Getting exercise/staying in shape Getting enough sleep every night Others? |

Fish oil is a good supplement to use. All the others you listed are good though - get lots of fruits/vegetables.

I think getting enough sleep is really huge. We don't need to get germs from outside to get sick. We carry them with us. It only matters when our immune system gets depressed.

For the last 2-3 years I have cut cows milk from my diet. Before that i used to drink ruffly 2 litres a day.It seemed I always had a cold, flem etc.On advice from a personal trainer i cut out cows milk completely and switched to drinking rice milk. Now I never seem to have much flem and never get many colds or get sick. This also gos for milk chocolate.

Stay away from other people, especially in close quarters.
Practice good food safety techniques and don't eat out, especially if you don't trust the establishment's food safety. |
