sheets\' sng videos on pokerxfactor....poor advice???
Hey guys,
Just signed up for pokerxfactor, only to be come away quite disappointed at their sng videos. While they're not necessarily bad, some the videos put on by sheets exhibited many poorly played hands and advice that is not very good. To be fair, sheets does a good job explaining ICM concepts, basic strategy, and analyzing hand ranges...but many of his other advice range from marginally poor to even horrible advice. I know sheets is one of the most succesfful online players in history, but from what I've seen and comparing to other players I've seen videos and respect alot ( Newt Buggs, bigjoe, beanmo) I don't see how this guy can be a winning player at the high levels. There were many clear mistakes that even an intermediate level player like me can point out. For those of you who have subscriptions to pokerxfactor, would you guys agree with me? I almost want to stop myself from watching more the sng material as I think I might be following poor advice. Note: Rizen's videos on pokerxfactor on the other hand are simply excellent. Very, very good stuff for people who suck at MTTs (like me). |

Re: sheets\' sng videos on pokerxfactor....poor advice???
Heads up:
300/600 - dont remember stack sizes, but pretty much all-in or fold stage. #1 raise 3x with 88 instead of pushing. villan calls. Than sheets call a flop shove on a 7KQ all diamond board against villan? #2 Not pushing Q6suited from the sb because he wants to give the opponent a break? Bubble: #1 200/400 blinds. Sheets has less than 2BB with one other short stack. He has Q8suited in BB and fold to huge stack's sb push (who has been shoving pretty much any 2, as he should be). That might be marginal but I think against someone you know who is pushing any two, Q8suited is a monster when u have less than 2BB. #2 Sheets is a shortstack and pushes from the sb into a very shortstack with 52 when the opponnet's calling range is huge. #3 Rasing 67off in sb against a slight shortstack player in BB (who can easily come over the top if he picks up anything decent). Why do that when your sitting healthy and theres no need to make that move? And if the opponet comes over the top, you pretty much have to call? Middle stages (blinds 50/100, 60/120) Advising players to raise KJ,A8,A7,K10,etc etc in middle/late position?? Saying SB complete/folds with A2o,J8,K5,etc etc as too weak tight?? more hands to come.... |

I haven't seen the videos but everything you've described is pretty horrible.
With the last point is sheets saying that ppl should be raising those hands in the SB instead of folding or completing? I fold in those spots. That last point just seems to be phrased weird (maybe I'm just tired). |

Sorry if its phrased weird.
Last point: He is basically saying when its folded around the table, you should raise hands like A2,A4,K9, etc, etc from the SB because its a HU pot and an Ace is strong. |

Re: sheets\' sng videos on pokerxfactor....poor advice???
its seems to me like sheets is using a mixed style of MTT strategy and ICM when he plays. He plays pretty good for the most part but then makes some plays that range from very marginally bad to awful.
