Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
Deleted The remarks you quote were not written by Paul, the staffer who wrote them was fired, he regrets that they appeared in his newsletter, takes responsibility that they were published in his newsletter, are 14 years old, and have been debunked numerous times, including on this very board the last time Deleted.

Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If he truly is racist, this should show itself in a pattern of racial remarks, policy positions, votes, etc. [/ QUOTE ] In 2004, Congress voted on a bill to "Recognize and honor the 40th anniversary of congressional passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and celebrate it's role in eliminating discrimination against African Americans" It passed the House 414-1 The lone objection was Ron Paul. First the racially charged quotes, and now this? [/ QUOTE ] Deleted [/ QUOTE ] Deleted I'll do some digging to see if I can find actual quotes from Dr. Paul regarding this matter, but I'm done conversing with RedBean. |

Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Yes, he is. And a fascist one at that. [/ QUOTE ] Interpreting Paul's racist quotes for what they are....racist.....that makes me a fascist? [/ QUOTE ] They aren't Ron Paul quotes. Since you've been corrected on this, I trust you'll stop lying about it? And no, it's being a fascist that makes you a fascist. [ QUOTE ] Or, are you labeling me a fascist troll rather than address the reality of Paul's history of racist quotes? That's like, Ad Hominem 101, isn't it professor? [/ QUOTE ] Lol, ironyments. No, I'm labeling you a fascist because your extensive posting history shows that you are in favor of thoroughgoing economic control by the central government, which makes you . . . a fascist. |

Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
[ QUOTE ]
The remarks you quote were not written by Paul, [/ QUOTE ] He initially defended them as his own. Only after catching some flak, did he "claim" they weren't his. They appeared in HIS newsletter, with HIS name as author. [ QUOTE ] the staffer who wrote them was fired, [/ QUOTE ] Source? I don't believe you. [ QUOTE ] he regrets that they appeared in his newsletter, takes responsibility that they were published in his newsletter, [/ QUOTE ] Yet, he never condemned the message, and in fact, is only on record as DEFENDING THE QUOTES, saying they were in "context of current events". For the sake of argument, even if his claim is true that a staffer wrote them......why did Paul continue to defend the quotes, instead of condemning them as obviously racist? Is it because he agrees with them? [ QUOTE ] the last time one of you no talent can't-debate-the-issues, Boy-Who-Cried-Racist trolls trotted this [censored] out. [/ QUOTE ] More ad hominem, eh? Sweet. Truth be told, it's probably the best tactic to employ here....because Paul's display of racism in that piece is indefensible. |

Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
[ QUOTE ]
They aren't Ron Paul quotes. Since you've been corrected on this, I trust you'll stop lying about it? [/ QUOTE ] They are Ron Paul's quotes. He authored them in his newsletter. That you believe his "claim" that he didn't write them, only after he first DEFENDED them and CLAIMED THEY WERE HIS WORDS. Let's look at the facts: 1. Quotes were in his newsletter. 2. Quotes were attributed to Ron Paul as author. 3. Ron Paul initially defended the quotes as his own. vs 4. Much later, Paul "admits" that they weren't his, but still defends them as being "in context to current events". Me thinks Ron Paul is lying with #4, and #1-#3 are indisputable fact. [ QUOTE ] And no, it's being a fascist that makes you a fascist. [/ QUOTE ] Except I'm not, despite your attempts to label me one. Kind of like how Paul attempted to label blacks in his racist diatribe. [ QUOTE ] Lol, ironyments. [/ QUOTE ] No kidding. [ QUOTE ] No, I'm labeling you a fascist because your extensive posting history shows that you are in favor of thoroughgoing economic control by the central government, which makes you . . . a fascist. [/ QUOTE ] Economic control? Huh? I don't know shyte or shinola about economics, nor have I pretended too. I spend the money in my wallet, and when it's gone, I try to get some more. That's about the extent of my economic background. Try again, Grand Dragon. |

[/ QUOTE ] The economic control by the central government is only one attribute that is needed to be fascist, so this is by not enough to label anyone fascist at all. |

Re: Watch Out For Ron Paul
As someone who has so far only voted for Green Party and Democrat candidates I am now supporting Ron Paul.
Reason: foreign policy is the most important issue right now and Paul seems to be the best candidate by far in that regard. I'm having nightmares about a Clinton vs Giuliani or Romney race. |
