Re: Another similar weird hand 1020
[ QUOTE ]
The problem with the way you've played your hand is that it looks a lot more like a weak ace (which is essentially the hand you have) than a draw. Because your hand is pretty much turned over, it makes it a whole lot easier for him to c/r for value if he's ahead as he assumes you'd bet a hand of your strength for value yourself. It also makes it easier for him to c/r bluff as he realizes you probably don't have anything that can stand the heat..... so please check. [/ QUOTE ] Wouldn't this logic make me want to bet/induce shove and call? The majority of his range that he bets flop and turn and checks riv are marginal aces, rarely sets and draws, and I don't think most people are capable of c/r riv for value with a dry ace. This coupled with the fact that I never really show up with a boat here, and he knows that, makes him capable of blowing me off my marginal hands betting for value with a missed draw. |

[/ QUOTE ] I guess it all comes down to how bad of a hand he is willing to C/Rai for value. If he only shoves with AK AQ then I think you can bet/call If he is capable of shoving virtually any ace then it becomes a little more likely you are beat. It's extremely player dependent... I can think of some players when a river c/r is always for value and others when it's likely a bluff. If you have no reads though I do like the bet/call line as default after reading this. |
