the right man won [/ QUOTE ] definitely, he was the most consistent and while he might not have had the best character, he was incredibly dedicated and it really was his life. i wish i got into this show earlier. |

Re: Top Chef Finale
I'm very glad to see that Hung won. I've been rooting for him since pretty early in the season, and definitely after Tre was eliminated. I think the show was probably edited to make him come off as worse than he is, for the sake of drama.
It was a shame to see that Casey faltered at the end there. Dale did provide a little competition and suspense, but after the one comment that Hung's duck dish was "Michelin 3-star" I was pretty sure his chocolate cake was going to have to be absolute crap for him to lose the title. |

Re: Top Chef Finale
I'll say this - this finale episode impressed me. From two previous polls it was obvious the majority of viewers hated Hung. And also obvious, if we believe what the producers showed us, that he was best.
I think the right chef won, and the show did not force that the winner be contrite or humble. Hung was confident, and maybe annoying, but he was also always humble in front of great chefs. Most amazing: during the live portion, when asked what the contestants thought, Casey's first words were essentially, "it wasn't my night, I'm not going to win." The head judge's first words, translated: "You're right." This show really dispelled some of my cynicism about what may go on behind the scenes. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, to be fair, Casey had just watched the episode itself. She had seen the portion of judges' commentary where it was decided that Hung had won 2 courses and Dale had won 2 courses. There was no question that the "tough decision" (which I don't think was actually that tough, but they've got to say it is for TV) was between Dale and Hung. |

Very true, and I didn't really think of that.
You have restored my cynicism. Thank you. |

Re: Top Chef Finale
Who was the idiot posting last week about there being no way Hung would win because of how they edited him all season?
Oh yeah... that would be me. I'm glad the best chef won. Bravo Hung. |
