Flop decision to a miniraise with TP and much backdoors
Full Tilt Poker
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $59.40 UTG+1: $100 CO: $136 Hero: $106.25 SB: $93.80 BB: $23.40 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, CO calls, Hero raises to $5.5, SB calls, 2 folds, CO calls. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($18.5, 3 players) SB checks, CO checks, Hero bets $12, SB raises to $28, CO calls, Hero ? Who would play check behind at the flop? I think this harmless seeing flop is good to bet out here. With which hands will SB make here this gay miniraise? I had here only top pair, but 2 backdoor flush draws and a bad backdoor straight draw too. I get here 5.4/1 pot odds and with the 9 two pair outs, which will often enough to win the pot and the backdoors I think it is a call here. Who will call here? |

I check behind on flop. Definite fold. Checking behind gets you a free card.

Re: Flop decision to a miniraise with TP and much backdoors
Backdoor flush draws are worth roughly 1-1.5 outs on the flop. Facing a check-raise, assuming villain isn't bluffing, you are definitely dominated with your one pair and likely dominated with your 2 pair (4567 or something is crushing you). If you suspect he is bluffing then re-raise and see what he does. If he is pushing with AA then you are still behind (60-40 or so).
Trying to steal after a PF raise is OK some percentage of the time, but knowing when to lay down a PF raise defense is key. Instafold. |

Re: Flop decision to a miniraise with TP and much backdoors
i really like checking this flop - when i c-bet i either have air or a strong hand im felting, so when i have a nice little piece like this what i really want is a cheap turn to see if i can improve - because dorks overuse the c/r at these levels with all kinds of rubbish thats exactly what you have been offered so i take it

Yeah Elrazor you are right this guys would check/raise with all kind of rubbish.
Ok I make the bad call a king of clubs come SB check and MP goes all-in, I call and SB folds. Another clubs comes at the river but I had also win the pot without improving to a flush. MP shows me 93xx and SB I think had here some kind of a weak low wrap or bottom set/two pair. |
