Re: Pac10 Football Week 5

Yeah, PSU not blitzing Mallett in obvious passing situations was just terrible. [/ QUOTE ] Esp because DeBord made sure that any time we threw would be in a passing situation. It's like deception isn't chivalrous or something. Hell, the first play of every game is always off-tackle left. You think a D like PSU's would have totally shut it down, but we did alright. Thank god for JoePa. |

Apparently Joe scrapped the entire game plan on Thursday in favor of something more conservative. That obviously didn't work. This week's game really worries most of the PSU fan base. There's rumors swirling about some serious problems brewing internally. Apparently Joe is on the verge of losing this team. I don't have a lot of confidence in them to pull it together. I'll say 19-16 Illinois. |

Re: Pac10 Football Week 5
Totally off topic (again), but PSU home games are a HUGE advantage. Other than OSU night games (Texas only), that is the loudest stadium I have ever been in.

I like Illinois a lot too, PSU is really poorly coached like you said above, M2TR. I just don't get some coaches/schemes. It's unreal. [/ QUOTE ] don't underestimate Zook's ability to outbad Paterno though even last week, Zook didn't commit to the run early enough when it was clear Indiana couldn't stop the Illini on the ground. Now, I like having a balanced offense, but, if the other team is allowing 9ypc and you don't have a deep passing attack, RUN THE EFFING BALL. last year, the Illini outplayed PSU on the traditional football offense v defense stuff. However, the Illini special teams were awful and Juice panicked at crunch time. The game should be real tight again and could follow the same script. |

We'll continue to utilize Morelli in situations where he struggles (short passes) and avoid going down field at all costs. It's a good thing we bring in Chris Bell to run block. God forbid we throw the ball to a fast, tall WR. |

Re: Pac10 Football Week 5
Why don't they just give it to Devine every time?
