Last year, US high roller Andrew Robl, who describes himself as a "professional" poker player under the moniker of Good2cu, took home a cool $US145,000

Realize our opinion is really skewed.

Most people reading this article are in their 30-40s and probably not making 100k.

[/ QUOTE ]

but what % of their income do most people in their 30-40s spend on cristal?

[/ QUOTE ]

spending large %'s of your not so big income so that people will think you are a baller, is definitely not baller

If I was scamming gov't tax-man, I'd keep the lie up also when interviewed....

I was going to mention the good ol' tax man myself. That "145k" shrinks to about 90k IF the "ballas" are paying the correct amount of taxes. If they arent, they will be called the "ship it to my commissary in the federal pen" ballas when the IRS gets a hold of them.

And they just LOVE to go after clowns who brag and let it be known to the entire world how rich they are(allegedly) but dont pay their share to Uncle Sam every year.

It's becoming more apparent who wears the pants in this whole sordid SIHB relationship.

if anyone is interested, essay i am handing in like now:

"Using news or reviews to communicate a message about a firm's brand can also be utilised as a highly effective stealth tool. The key attribute of this form of promotion which makes it so successful is the perceived impartialness of the source; despite the fact that favourable articles can be paid for. A good example of how this can work was demonstrated in a recent Sydney Morning Herald article about online gambling (“No Dice”, 2007). The article essentially glorified online gambling, making it seem harmless and fun; whilst not making any direct moral-based comments and thus appearing impartial."

SMH have written a couple of other positive poker articles recently too, including one empirically stating that we shouldn't have to worry about tax here in AU because it is a hobby. a fine establishment!
