Re: 77 overpair on flop
I'm not actually happy to be facing this checkraise, but I'm playing for stacks with my 77 on this flop versus a shorty.

Re: 77 overpair on flop
I might push, I might fold. I think you are only ahead of 66,44,33,A5. And behind 2x,88+.
But why are you sitting at a table with only half stacks? I like tables with bad players with full stacks. Not bad players with half stacks, because 1) you will not get paid off as well 2) it's harder to make these guys fold. |

Re: 77 overpair on flop
Against the range 22+,A5s,A2s,K2s,A5o,A2o,K2o you have only 35% equity. If you think he might do it also with AK,AQ or something like that. It's 45-55. Including AJ,KQ it's 50-50.
You decide. |

[/ QUOTE ] Shortstacks are generally bad players, so he might be doing this with just about anything he might call the PF raise with. Say QT, KJ, etc. A 5 is somehow likely, a 2 might be likely also. I think with a pocket pair, most shortstackers here would just shove PF, so not much peril. Very likely this is a FD also. |

Re: 77 overpair on flop
I think some shortstack shove pp's preflop. Definitely not all of them.
For the flushdraw, you will definitely give him the odds to call by shoving, since he has to call 5 to win a 15 dollar pot. Is that what you want? |
