I don't think that tough love comments are the best strategy to bringing pboy back into the flock |

More power to you, if you wish to leave, so be it, and it's the forum's problem if they're worse off as a result if it. The mods on this site are like Nazis, it's ridiculous.

Re: Farewell 2+2...My final post...
I'm sad the pokerboy feels he needs to leave over this. Even though he's scaled back his posting considerably he was still one of our best posters.
That being said, I stand by deleting his post. Short stacking threads have become the new "Fold KK preflop?" or "Should I fold my set?" threads which inevitably derail into flames. People have complained repeatedly about those two kinds of threads to the point where I've been working on the FAQ to try and address these situations. We do not need a third. The thread was a discussion of short stacking strategy into which pokerboy interjected an OT and inflammatory post with zero content. The post was a single line, "Die shortstackers Die!" with a link to a thread on lobbying Stars to raise the buy-in level. The one that pokerboy posts at every mention of short stackers. I deleted the post and PM'ed him asking him not to troll short stacking threads. I didn't yell at him. I didn't ban him. I didn't call him out publicly. My actions were measured and reasonable. I have no idea why this would upset anyone enough to leave 2+2 and I still hope he reconsiders. |

Re: Farewell 2+2...My final post...
Pokerboy, I feel bad because it was my thread you posted in.
I think when you think about this some more you may come to think that although it was totally clear to me you were making a joke, politically the timing was not great and hey wouldnt it be best to simply take the beat and carry on as a pro does? I for one value your input greatly, mostly the example that you set as a pro. I really hope you continue to make the same valuable posts as you always have. My 2 dinars worth |

Re: Farewell 2+2...My final post...
Id like to point out that two years later, Paul PHillips is completely out of poker. (He now spends all his time writing code and playing in scrabble tournaments).
So yeah, if you wanna isolate yourself from the poker community and the resource that is 2+2 over one small thing that wasnt even really a post (just a link!) then that is entirely your perogative. Have a good one. See you at the tables. |

Re: Farewell 2+2...My final post...
As a relative noob to 2+2 I hope pokerboy reconsiders.
I agree with him that the experienced posters on here are a valuable asset to the forum - without them there would be no forum. On the other hand I have been a member on a number of forums (some poker some non-poker) who have fallen into decline due to lack of mods doing their job. I think that we should be thankful for mods who declutter the forums and keep people in the right direction. |
