Noob to online poker
What are the key programs to have when playing online poker?
Rakeback programs- I missed the boat on these, as I've already registered accounts at UB and Pstars. It looks like Pokertracker is a must-have (will buy asap). What about Harrington's calculations on M and Q values? Are there any online tools available for calculating these while in a tournament? I once saw a you-tube video where someone had an excel spreadsheet available while playing in a tournament, but do not know if this is sold somewhere - or was home made. |

Re: Noob to online poker
pokertracker and some hud to go with it. Q isn't really that important. M is really easy to just calculate yourself especially at a computer with access to a calculator. And it's really only used in multi table tournaments.
If you're gonna play stt's you'll want some ICM calculator. |

Re: Noob to online poker
get PokerAce HUD as well as pokertracker. It's 20 bucks or something but it's a fair bit better than the free GameTime+ alternative.
Signing up at Stars isn't a problem as far as rakeback goes because Stars doesn't do rakeback. |

Re: Noob to online poker
To be successful, you are going to have to calculate Q and M on your own.
As well, you should memorize all preflop percentages as well as most postflop situations. |

Re: Noob to online poker
I have a general sense of where the Q/M values are- and feel fairly comfortable playing $1/2 $2/3 no limit in Brick&Mortars-- it's just the online environment where I am fairly inexperienced.
Thank you all for your advice. I'll have to look into creating a Full Tilt account for the bonus/rakeback. |
