Best Laptop Under 1000$?
Hi, an Argentine friend of mine asked me to bring him a laptop on my return trip from the States, and I'm trying to help him get the best bang for his buck. (Buying the same laptop in Argentina would cost twice as much, and the argentine peso spends at 1/3 the buying power of the dollar).
Basically, his budget is around 1k$ US, and we'd prefer something with an international warranty, (which basically includes Dell, Toshiba, HP). Any suggestions on which company to go with for a laptop under or around $1k US? This laptop is not for playing poker. The guy is a student, and basically just wants it for casual use. Any help would be tremendous. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Best Laptop Under 1000$?
there are a ton of choices.
If he will pay 1k, just get something with a C2D, and 1GB or 2GB of RAM. I got a nice laptop for my dad that was an HP for about $750. |

Re: Best Laptop Under 1000$?
Ive always understood that toshibas have the best reputation for reliability... This comes form several individuals in the hardware repair business.
Since he is Argentine, the fact that toshiba still has US based tech support may be less of an important issue unless he is fluent in english. |
