Good casino for a first-time visitor to Atlantic City?
Is there any casino that anyone would recommend for someone who's never been to a proper B&M casino before?
I was thinking of going to the Borgata in the next few days to experience the atmosphere surrounding a WPT event, but I'm open to any suggestions. |

The Borg is the top of the line, it's all downhill from there. You might want to save it for last.

Tropicana is a very beatable game and the waits are never long either, also it's very easy to move around. Borgata is obviously the most elegant as well and you will find plenty of action. After that, yuck.

I've really come to dislike the Tropicana. If you are just planning to play 1/2 NL (or 2/4 Limit), my favorite place to play is the Hilton. If you are looking for higher stakes or tournaments, Borgata without question. |

no taj love? [/ QUOTE ] I can not give the Taj love for cash games. Last time I was there, Large Marge was slowing up the 1/2 game. She was more worried about eating her lo mein then actually playing the game. Hilton is a nice room for lower limits. Not as fishy as it seems more regulars play there, instead of the "tourist" players at the Borgata. If you have the time, take a walk along the boards and just walk through the poker rooms. Get a feel for things, see where you feel most comfortable. More then likely, you will end up at either Borgata, Taj, or Showboat. |

What can you afford? I am assuming that money is no object and you don't mind paying through the roof if you stay at Borgata. Also what do you like to play...what game and what limits?
As far as poker goes the three best places to stay are Borgata, Trump Taj Mahal, and Tropicana. Prices are in that order too with Borgata being most expensive. I like to play $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em at Caesars however and that is not a bad place to stay either. All the casinos are accessible by the local transportation shuttle bus (Jitney) for $2 each way. |
