I assume u are not really thinking 14/13 is as nitty as 12/10? [/ QUOTE ] Of course not...just saying 14/13 is still super nitty. And you're right, I didn't contribute anything so: [ QUOTE ] this is called slowplaying [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: A bit of a new theory i call \'fake isolation\'
I think this is a good play to mix it up and it punishes light 3betters/isolators.

Re: A bit of a new theory i call \'fake isolation\'
I like this move better in SS B&M situations where table texture is frequently LAGgy with a mix of limpers. I was in just this situation a few days ago where I had AA twice in the session. The second time I call UTG, one fold, one raise to 12, a call, fold, raise to 30, SB and BB fold, I shove yadda yadda yadda. Not a play I'd make very often, but after 2 hours with the same gaggle of players flat calling raises re-raises with 4 or 5 to the flop it seemed like OK timing. Online I rarely see that kind of play.

Re: A bit of a new theory i call \'fake isolation\'
Tbh I think you should not be using things like this at freakin 100nl, this is mid stakes thinking.
Just learn to valuebet and bluff at good spots and move up. |

this is called slowplaying [/ QUOTE ] This is more correctly called a back raise. Typically calling a pfr w/ AA or KK then pushing over the top of a rr along with whatever callers come along. The rr does not have to be a shortie. |

[/ QUOTE ] No, a back raise is when you cold-call a PF raise and shove/4-bet after someone squeezes. OP is talking about limping up front...AKA slow-playing. |
