Re: VH1\'s \"The Pick up Artist\"
I think the reason they cast actors is to help the success of the show. I mean, if one can act out a character and "be that character", why couldn't they be successful at being, say, James [censored] Bond? (Especially with help from pros.) Even though the cast already looks fairly weak, it is still probably better than a random sampling of people.
What you see on camera would be far better if it cut the TV crap. A show I would like to see: [*] cast people that are good at beginning and make them great[*] more "classroom" scenes where mystery shows these people how to be very strong[*] more "mystery talking in ear" stuff[*] more outside scenes talking to girls[*] less TV [censored]: there should not be 10 minutes allocated to the elimination. there should be like five. Mystery should just go from strongest to weakest and highlight briefly what they should do to improve. And kill the medallions, its [censored].[*] more day game pickup, picking up moving targets, picking up strippers, etc. These scenes only work well when the PUA's are actually good, and not piss poor like you saw in the previews for episode 7 ("hey i need a female opinion" to a girl jogging, lol) |

What really bugs me is "There are 3 medallions left. As you can see, there are 4 of you." etc

Re: VH1\'s \"The Pick up Artist\"
There is no doubt in my mind that the show is scripted. The guys can easily target the least attractive woman in the room and win the challenge every time.
Anyway, I like the show a lot for Mystery's solid advice but David DeAngelo's methods are better if you're >30. |

Could Mystery provide any help for Dennis Haskins?

Re: VH1\'s \"The Pick up Artist\"
I haven't finished watching this week's episode--I'm just to the part where Pradeep slapped Joe D.
* The slap didn't appear to be too hard. * He was trying to kiss Pradeep. Shouldn't he expect some kind of reaction? * Pradeep was being an ass, though. Just refusing to apologize without explanation is stupid. Even saying, "You [censored] tried to kiss me! What did you expect?" would have been better than how he reacted. |

Re: VH1\'s \"The Pick up Artist\"
Still haven't finished the episode. Should be the easiest elimination ever: Pradeep not only did a terrible job with his set, interfering with Joe should be an automatic elimination.
Brady's improvement was remarkable, though. |

[/ QUOTE ] I thought this was an interesting idea when you first posted it, and now (weeks later) I think your idea's the only way to save the show for the long term. It's just too painful to watch these zeros try to interact with ANYONE. It may go another season because of the show's initial strength, but unless these guys get real interesting real soon, I can't imagine this show going three or four+ seasons. I don't care who wins because whoever it is, he'll will still be boring as hell to observe. (That Leyla chick was the main reason I tuned into see Monday's show) (Just to reiterate your idea) On a scale from one to ten, I would now much rather watch the host help guys (who rank in the 7-to-9 range) become Tens, than a bunch of zeros become twos, threes, or fours. [/ QUOTE ] That's a little harsh. Brady and Kosmo seem like a lot better than 2, 3, or 4 (though I agree with that assessment on some of the people, like the 45 year old.) The improvement in Brady is striking. Brady really handled himself well in this episode. They should do a comparison with how he did in the first episode just to show how far he's gotten. |

Perhaps you should rewind and notice the hand over mouth preventing the actual kiss, but please it is not necessary to run a play by play this time. J |
