Re: Problem with husband of friend - need advice please
take pictures of bruise, tell the wife, show her the evidence with specific dates/times, record conversation if possible for evidence.

Re: Problem with husband of friend - need advice please
He attempted to detain you against your will and then threatened you. It's not wise for you to try to interpret the meaning and seriousness of his threat, or the lengths he may go to fulfill it. I would file a police report regardless of how you otherwise decide to handle this with her. Even if nothing comes of it right now, it does no harm to file the report.
I would not speak to or otherwise engage him. If he ever somehow decides to cause you harm, the police will at least have knowledge of this incident. |

Re: Problem with husband of friend - need advice please
you could talk to the wife and simply say something like:
"I can hang out with you, but only as long as husband is not around" When she asks why, you can tell her to ask her husband. |

Re: Problem with husband of friend - need advice please
Just PM me his name and address. No more problems, I promise. If that's not your style, make sure you file a police report. If he's tried this [censored] with you, there's a ridiculously high chance he's attempted to or actually raped another woman. Go soon so they can photo your arm.

Re: Problem with husband of friend - need advice please
Thanks to all for the advice. I called her back yesterday, and told her I wanted to meet with just her. She must have told Steve, because he beat me to the talk with her. When I met her, I saw the look on her face, like she wanted to kill me. She started with "Steve told me everything". I told her I didn't want to hurt her, but wanted her to hear me out. That I was only telling her because I cared about her, and I understood that we most likely wouldn't be able to be friends after this (which really, really sucks).
I told her what happened, showed her the bruise, and left it at that. She defended her husband, which I expected. I could see deep down though, she kind of believed me. I also told her what he said about being "extremely sorry" and that I would not tolerate threats from him. I told her several people know about this (ok, its only you guys) and that if something happens it will point to him. The thing that was said about it being an act of desperation to threaten me rang true. Why do anything when its too late? I didn't want to file a report, I just am not able to deal with the stress at this time. Plus, its just he said she said and aside from the bruise, nothing really happened. I also didn't report it right away, so I think it would look suspicious after the told his wife what happened. The thing that really creeps me out is that he set it up. He said "we're having wine come on over" to imply she was there. Then, he told me she ran to the store, and didn't tell me the truth until after I had a glass of wine. The predmeditated lying was the worst part of it. I feel for her, I know she is in a tough spot. I guess I should consider myself lucky that nothing more happened. Thanks again guys. |

Let the wife know and never associate with him again. If you believe his threats then of course call the cops. [/ QUOTE ] |
