Re: Big, elaborate multi-street bluffs in 3bet pots @ 200 NL
[ QUOTE ]
People don't fold to turn bets in 3bet pots. Hand 1 is an easy check behind. [/ QUOTE ] this is really not what i find at all. a ton of ABC regs will take a "call one street" approach with medium pps in 3bet pots. double barreling in RR pots is, imo, often a good move |

Re: Big, elaborate multi-street bluffs in 3bet pots @ 200 NL
though i have to admit i don't really like the bet sizing in hand 1. i know it's backasswards to say it looks like a bluff b/c it's so big, but it think that's how it will often be perceived by villain. i'd just do like 120 or so.

[/ QUOTE ] Good point - I hardly ever bet pot in those spots with a legitimate hand. FWIW villain in hand 1 called and showed JTs, river blanks. w/e, make a note and move on. People have made a good point that this should only be tried against an opponent with which you have fold equity. Generally you don't have much against a laggrodonk who hits any piece of the flop. Villain in hand 2 folded. |

[ QUOTE ] #2: Checking behind and betting/raising most rivers would be sexy (and allows you to take the free card). [/ QUOTE ] I always find that when I bet the river I get looked up ultra light, since the river bet screams like exactly what it is: a bluff. Legitimate hands bet for value/protection on the turn almost always. Raising river bets is a bit better, but I still don't like it much. Feels a bit too FPS. [/ QUOTE ] exactly. dont check turn and bet riv... bet turn (as you would most your good range). |

I like the plays OP... obv hand 1 would be better against a more solid opponent. But if you never make these plays then your merging/balancing is off and not as near optimal frequency. |
