Re: Need help value betting river, please
hand 1 i bet about 75
hand 2 i either c/c or throw out about 65 hand 3 85-95. on a side note trying to check raise a station on a drawy turn is a terrible idea. |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
Hand 1 shove and get called by a million things. Played a semi similar hand, although villain in this one was shorter.

Re: Need help value betting river, please
Hand 1: Value bet
Hand 2: CRAI on the turn. Think about his range. Hand 3: Bet-fold the river against a station. Check-call against most others. |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
If blocker betting won't work (because it might get raised) i think you have to check the river in all 3 cases. i don't think a bet makes any sense because you probably won't get called by a 2nd best hand and you can't get better hands to fold either. so check and then either call or fold, which is a tough decision. hopefully your opponent just checks behind. if not, whether you call will depend on the price you get and the type of opponent you are against.

Re: Need help value betting river, please
c/r turn on #3 sucks so hard
he's a station the majority of his pair + draws/draw hands have no reason to bet and will check back and even if he was aggr enough to bet all his draws when we check, then we're still better off bet/calling |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
i don't see how everyone is saying to value bet the river. do you really think most players will call 3 big bullets with a weak/marginal one pair hand? Since they won't, and since you likely can't get better hands to fold, what is the value of a bet? i think you check behind in position, and out of position, you check and hope your opponent checks behind. if they bet, you have a tough decision that will depend on the price you get and the type of opponent you are against.

Re: Need help value betting river, please
Generally, there is so much value lost checking rivers with good top pairs vs bad players that has shown 0 aggression. I think it's a very common leak among decent players.

Re: Need help value betting river, please
sure, you might get called by one or two inferior hands if you bet, but what about the many hands that beat you that will also call? the number of 2nd best hands that call has to compare to the number of hands that beat you for a bet to be profitable.
