Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
I 100% stack off here. Usually on the turn.

[ QUOTE ] 0.78AF [/ QUOTE ] god i wish we could sticky a thread about what AF really means. 0.78AF for a 40vpip is low enough that he's raising top pair decent kicker. i probably call and shove a non-heart turn. [/ QUOTE ] Could you please make that thread? I dont understand AF very well |

Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
Anyone playing low limits has to have seen this play a thousand times,
Hero raises from LP, call from the blinds, flop K(two low cards) Villian: checks Hero: leads out 2/3pot Villian: Very sure of his move villian c/r 3times that amount, unless villian is very aggresiv this if often a set. I dont always stack off in these spots. What would be the best line to take in these kind of situations? Its to weak to always fold tptk, but you dont wanne give the set miners the odds they need if you always stack off on a tp or overpair. What to do? I often end up calling the flop, (maybe folding if im expecting a big turn bet) and folding to a big turn bet, or sometimes if i smell a rat call it down/raise. |

Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
The reason i raised to 5BB is because i was trying to plan my hand around commitment
He had 80 dollars starting out so i figured if i raise to 5 and he calls that leaves me with a SPR of 8... making it very hard for him to out play me Am i incorrectly using that concept in this particular situation? |

Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
You absolutely cannot fold here. Stack sizes?

Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
Well, if you wanna get committed, just open-shove preflop. Or raise to like 50.
I mean c'mon.. just because a book says to raise more because it helps you get committed better - sighhh. As played, shove, he can have KQ/KJ here and he's not folding. |

Re: 100NL: Lost all confidence in AK
[ QUOTE ]
pepper - Can you explain the AF thing in a little detail? The way I understand it, it means for every call villain makes, he makes a bet/raise 0.78 times. So, the guy calls more often than he bets or raises on the whole postflop. If I have an AF of 3, I make 3 bets or raises for every call I make. So, in general, I'm the aggressor and doing the betting and not doing the calling down. If a guy with a 40% VPIP is playing raise/fold postflop, he would still have a high aggression factor. It's totally possible to run 40/0/5 by limping into a ton of pots, and on the flop either giving up on it or leading/raising. This guy has a low AF, so he probably calls a ton of raises in position and floats a lot of flops, calls down with 2nd pair and chases draws. I see guys like this where a bunch of their AF comes from doing a bunch of c/c flop oop, turn checks through he pots out river stuff. So, is this wrong? Help me out. [/ QUOTE ] This is correct The idea is that a since on average a 40 vpip guy is playing weaker hands, the fact that his AF is lower than yours doesn't mean he won't play just as aggressively as you would with certain hands. In other words, he might play exactly like you do postflop for the 20% of hands that both you guys would play, but hs AF is significantly lower because half of his total hands he plays are so much weaker and he plays them more passively. |

Yea, stack sizes are a big deal when making these decisions.
