$1000 Mega Satellite at the Bike. 162 runners. We start with t2000 in chips and 16 people get WPT seats.
There are around 40 left. UTG + 1, with blinds of 300/600/75, moves all in for t2600. He previously pushed with two broadways cards 5 minutes earlier. I have AQo with t5600. What's my best play? This is the last hand before the break. I probably am in 20-25th place and there are probably at least 12 really big stacks. Conventional wisdom in this spot is to play very tight and hopefully outlast your opponents and hope they make bad decisions allowing you to win a seat. Comments appreciated. Bruce |

i probably shove it in here. you are significantly ahead of his range, will still have some fold equity if you call and lose (albeit small) and are not in a position to blind into the money.

given there are 12-15 big stacks I am fine with a push to isolate here.

I don't think the results really matter that much. I figured I'm way ahead of his overall range and I was relatively short stacked and I needed chips.
But for the record, I pushed, the big blind folded AQ, and the initial raiser had pocket Kings and I was unable to suck out. The reaction from the table, not that I really care, was that my play bordered on insanity. The player to my right, a multi bracelet winner, looked at me like I was an idiot. According to him survival was more important, let other players bust out, and be there to get lucky if you need to. Why, according to him, would you call off almost half your chips when you have zero fold equity? I can't say I really agree with his logic, but I thought this hand was somewhat interesting. Bruce |

your play is to bomb overtop allin.
w/ less than 10bb and his range pretty wide (although he is pushing ep) i don't see how your cards/chipstack allow you any other option. |
