multitabling without poker tracker?
Hey everyone,
I play 50nl but have not yet played at more than one table. I do not use poker tracker, but am thinking about playing on 2-3 tables. This may seem like nothing to many, but I am a beginner (relative). I have read posts saying you need poker tracker to multi-table but I do not like the idea. I like using my mind to get a read. Find out by watching rather than reading whether someone is a TAG or LAG. Finally, the question: is it possible to make reads multi-tabling without poker tracker? If so, what kind of questions should I be asking to make reads on several tables given the fact I'll have less time to watch other players... This is probably a jumbled question but thanks for reading. |

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
I personally don't use pokertracker when multitabling I just use to to review my hands at the end of the session.
As for getting reads on villians while multitabling, it is harder but with a little bit of practice you soon start to remember who is loose/tight, who reraises with nothing and which players back down to cbets. A lot of this would obviously be easier using PT and PAHUD but it is still possible without it. EDIT: As for what questions you should be asking yourself, I cant help you there. I play very aggressively so I quickly get a feel of what players you can scare off of a pot and which ones you will be showing down with and I just remember them. |

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
If you haven't multi-tabled before, you may want to consider dropping down to a level where a few poor plays or outright mistakes due to the greater speed of play won't really hurt you. Maybe NL 10 instead of your current NL 50. As for reads, play ABC poker until you're comfortable with the pace of play.

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
PT + PAHUD makes it ALOT easier, i definately recommend...
Its possible to generate reads whilst multi tabling, but with PT + PAHUD and some datamining it'll make your job alot easier |

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
I'm just going to say yes, you should absolutely have and use PT to multitable those limits. You can still observe players just the same.

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess my hesitation to use PT was due to the fact that I did not want to rely on stats to help with reads for when I eventually am old enough to play at a casino.
But obviously online multi-tabling is different from a live, single table game... Thanks for the responses guys. |

Re: multitabling without poker tracker?
Online poker without PT is like cookies without ice-cold milk...it's good but not great.
