Big flop decesion with JJ?
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.15/$0.30 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
Hero (SB): $88.50 BB: $29.45 UTG: $21.60 MP: $64.80 CO: $69.65 BTN: $69.20 Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG calls $0.30, MP raises to $1.60, CO calls $1.60, BTN folds, Hero calls $1.45, 2 folds Flop: ($5.40) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) Hero bets $3.00, MP raises to $14.40, CO folds, Hero folds Pot Size: $22.80 I only had about 11 hands with villain at this point. I don't know why but when he raised preflop I automatically was thinking he has AA or KK (gut feeling). Which makes me not 3betting preflop to find out where I was at worse I guess. Thoughts please. |

Re: Big flop decesion with JJ?
You're right of course, at 100BBs calling is fine but deep you really need to RR to narrow his range. If you RR and he just calls I think you can get a lot of money in vs a weaker overpair on this flop. If he 4bets it's prob a fold.
As played I don't think it matters all that much. Looks like 55, 66, 77 all the way up to AA. You're probably +ev if you're willing to try and make JJ-QQ-KK fold if an ace hits the turn but rather you than me |

Re: Big flop decesion with JJ?
Would it be so bad to check/call down?
What if he largely overbets the pot? I didn't 3 bet originally because of position, but after the hand was done I said if I thought he really had a big hand I should have 3bet to see where I stand. |

Re: Big flop decesion with JJ?
55-AA bet turn again if you check so you are still playing in the dark if your looking to c/c all the way to river even aggro opponents may fire a second bluff here...
c/c lead lets you.. pick off a cbet(more value from your hand if ahead) make a better hand fold/slowdown (a overpair may fear a four and fold or let you see cheap showdown) lets you know where you stand if a big reraise comes If opponent has a great hand AA/KK/QQ/33/44 Hell let you know by a reraise making it easy to fold your Jax |

Re: Big flop decesion with JJ?
You need to rr this pf. You're nearly burning money if you don't. Only argument against is how deep, but I don't think that's enough to not 3bet this. Picking off a small pot is much easier if you 3bet it (which is a good result for JJ), either on the flop or preflop. If you're going to play a big hand (ie, you hit a set or whatever), the 3bet sure is nice as well.

Re: Big flop decesion with JJ?
I think bet/folding this flop is pretty bad.
If you're gonna fold, don't bet |
