Villian is pretty decent runs around 16/12/2
what's the best line to take here? I feel weak here because I just called. Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $70.70 BB: $46.70 UTG: $49.00 MP: $36.25 CO: $54.25 Hero (BTN): $66.80 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) 3 folds, Hero raises to $2.00, SB raises to $6.00, BB folds, Hero calls $4.00 Flop: ($12.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $7.00 Pot Size: $19.50 |

Ask yourself why you're calling this. DO you think you're behind? If so, you need to fold - how many outs do you have to improve. If you're ahead, you need to protect your hand for the same reason. Are you behind? A 16% VPIP does not encessarily put him on a pocket pair. What's his CB%? I might fold this if it was zero and I had a huge sample of hands on him - otherwise this is a definite raise for me.

you would only raise to prevent him from sucking out with AK 25% of the time. With your stack size I may start leaning towards calling instead of pushing.
If you push with hands like this in these spots its really high variance and when called ur generally [censored]. So yeah I think calling>raising>folding. |

Is villain the type of player to raise in the SB because he thinks you're stealing on the button? If so, his range just opened up a lot.

Pushing is moronic since we beat JJ from calling range and lose against QQ+(,TT). AsKs we flip. Call and make the hard decision on turn. I think I fold this against a tighter player like this one.

i think i prefer re raising pre here. You make what looks like a standard button raise and he pops back. I just go ahead and re raise him here. if he pushes back then IMO he has A/K+. but here he may have any PP etc.
on the flop i raise it.his bet is 7into 12 doesnt scream strong to me. plenty of draws for him to be scared of if he has KK,AA so i wouild assume he would bet harder. unless he sees this line and bets weak wanting a raise....? re raise pre! |
