Agree with Benzoor. Fold seems OK, play of the hand seems OK, you are probably winning more often than you think. Tough enough to begin with for him to have 8x here and if he does, I have no idea why he's C/R'ing huge on the flop.

With position could've checked flop. If you're gonna call his reraise then you should be more aggressive on the turn(reraise perhaps or just fold). Going to river the way you did allowed him to shove with or without the nuts and you'd have to fold. It's pretty clear to him that you didn't have a set, and would fear one. Many would say why reraise his turn or fold earlier, but I'd prefer to spend a little to find out what he has, rather than giving the whole pot to him in the end without knowing his hand.
