Gross spot with JJ in $26/$28k guar
Villain is pretty retarded, very loose pf, but a limp 4bet just screams strength to me

Re: Gross spot with JJ in $26/$28k guar
all that the limp/4bet means is that the villian either:
a)THINKS he has a good hand (not necessarily the best hand, just a good hand) or b)thinks "oh man, I like my hand and want to play it but can't just call. oh well, might as well get it in." i see 55-99 and QJ/KJ/KQ play their hands poorly like this quite often. if he's as aggressive as he is loose, instacall b/c it's probably a 50/50 or something and the pot is paying you good for sucha situation. -eroc |

Re: Gross spot with JJ in $26/$28k guar
I dislike calling as it puts in more than half your stack in preflop. I hate shoving because you're only called by JJ+ and AK (maybe AQ).
What do you do if you call and get a flop with all undercards. I find it hard to believe that you're gonna fold here. And if you plan to do so, then you're basically jamming half your stack preflop for set value. What if the flop is all high cards? Fold and leave half your stack in the pot? I don't like it. I probably shove preflop. If villain has a bigger pair, then so be it. |
