Re: Common situation with specific hand
[ QUOTE ]
I know how you feel. I am always amazed at what hands these people will play as well as how they play them in a live game. [/ QUOTE ] Just remember that his kicker is irrelevant as he still played his hand very predicatably. Players can bitch all they want about a persons hand, 'you played T2!?!' but have only themselves to really blame when the player in question pretty much flipped his hand over with the way he played it. After all, you're not calling him down to see how big his kicker is on his trips. He doesn't need a kicker. b |

Re: Common situation with specific hand
[ QUOTE ]
For posterity, in low limit live games when the board is paired in a multiway pot, if you bet the turn and get raised, you should fold anything that either doesnt beat trips or doesnt have pot odds to outdraw trips. [/ QUOTE ] I agree, this is almost always true. In this case, unless you have good reads that CO will raise maniacally with trash and MP guy will call big bets with weak draws on paired boards, you can easily fold to turn raise. |

[ QUOTE ] just bet the turn. you said yourself they'll call with gutters, pp's, etc. lots of worse hands. if a passive player raises, fold. an aggro/retardo player raises, usually call down. [/ QUOTE ] Pretty much. b [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Common situation with specific hand
first mistake is not raising preflop, you would be facing a much smaller field. If the table isn't aggressive I would bet, most of the 6-12 I see is aggressive in which case you should check and call.

Re: Common situation with specific hand

first mistake is not raising preflop, you would be facing a much smaller field. [/ QUOTE ] I think the correct action here depends on the style of the table. In a game where you can rely on getting 7 to the flop usually or regularly (as this one might be) I think you have to limp it. The reason is that you will get too many cold-callers or raisers and you'll have to play a non-great hand OOP postflop. I think this is (usually) too much to make open raising profitable. I limp KJs and similar UTG in my 10/20 live game and lower live. I fold it in my online games. |
