Re: Best New Laptop for Online Poker????????
I just bought a new Dell this week. Like it so far. 17" WUXGA screen that does 1920x1200 resolution. Has Vista on it and Stars/PT/PAHUD work fine on it so far without any problems after a little tweaking. Cost was around $1500 but I upgraded a few things on it when ordering IE: 2GB ram, video card/sound upgrade, etc.

Yeah, I got a Dell Inspiron 1705 a while back with the upgraded resolution. Sometimes I gotta squint at other stuff, but 4-tabling on Stars or FT is a breeze. And, as an added bonus, you don't have to ask if it's possible to do it on a Mac and fiddle around with it.
Beat: I got mine with XP because that was still the thing. I don't know if you can still get XP, I was able to with my desktop. |

Re: Best New Laptop for Online Poker????????
The most important feature to look for is a WUXGA screen (1920x1200 resolution) which can only be found in 17" models. If you want something smaller and lighter, you'll have to get a 15" or 14" model and deal with lower screen resolution. With resizeable tables at most sites, this may not be a big deal to you.
I recommend at least 1 GB of RAM, preferably 2 GB. The processor isn't as important on a poker laptop, so the cheapest Intel Core 2 Duo should suffice. Hard drive shouldn't be that big of an issue either. Wireless comes standard on all models. Most people buy Dell because of the generally cheap prices, but Dell's prices fluctuate a lot depending on what their latest deal or special is. Lenovo, HP, Toshiba, and Acer are all solid brands, so shop around for the best price. |

There are 15.4" models that have the wuxga (1900x1200). However, text and other things start to look pretty small with this resolution on this size screen. Of course, it boils down to personal preference and how good your eyes are. |

Or you could get a Mac and post questions about which sites support it.
