24 +2: AQo UTG raise faces smooth call, RR from BB on Q high flop
I had no [censored] idea, Villain is new to table. (Blinds 80/60)
Hero (8350), UTG Villain, BB (6,390) Hero raises to 400 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB calls. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB snap checks, Hero bets 500, BB ponders and raises to 1960, Hero calls (?). Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB bets 2560, Hero ? By the flop RR, I'm confused whether I'm calling to induce a turn bet by KQ or QJ, a bluff by showing weakness, or if I'm calling because I'm going to re-evaluate and fold? I think calling the flop is OK this deep. Turn bet left me in pain. |

yup.. i think his raise on the flop is a little big for a monster hand..

Re: 24 +2: AQo UTG raise faces smooth call, RR from BB on Q high flop
I'm guessing this is a no-brainer and my $$ is going in? However, on such a dry board and with such aggressive play by the BB, can't I factor it at like 50/50 that he has me crushed and wait for a better spot?

I'm never giving him credit for having you crushed with the c/r on such a dry flop. This seems like a blatant steal attempt or a weak TP. On the turn I'm getting it in since villain has already committed half of his stack.

[/ QUOTE ] I understand your caution, but the standard play with monsters (mostly on this board sets since you raised a healthy amount to get q7 etc out) would be for the villain to check raise the turn. I'd say more often than now 80/20 you'll see KQ, maybe qj but KQ. I'd get it in on the turn with your own check raise. |
