Raise pre-flop, raise the turn.

Turn is weak, but you figured that out. You will get less action on river when you hit, lets put in more money on the freeroll. If he has a 7, he will call a reraise here on turn. River is a meh card for you, bet the amount with highest expectation.
EDIT: Thought the flush got there on turn. |

put him AI on river, its obv he has a 7 as well...shove the turn too while you still have a freeroll on him.

Re: 5NL -push this turn with one card straight+NFD?
Assuming Villain has a 7 (and it sure looks like he does), a turn push is worth about $0.36 to you on those occasions when all he has is 7x. And that's assuming Villain never pays off anything on a flush river, which is a very unrealistic assumption.
If Villain happens to have T7 (unlikely, but you never know), a turn push costs you about $1.08 on average (edit: er, not quite that, really, since you'll be paying off whatever Villain bets on the river). Meanwhile, versus J7, you're not completely on a freeroll (although you have an edge). I think a turn push is probably a good idea, but I don't think failing to make that push is going to cost you massively in this spot. I mean, Villain will have T7 occasionally, and with such a well concealed flush, you should be able to get paid on the river by any straight when you improve. I am kind of tempted to push on the river, by the way, but I don't really know how the limit plays, so I don't know if it's a good idea or not. |

Re: 5NL -push this turn with one card straight+NFD?
I would bet $1.85 on the river which is a bit more than putting him AI. Considering his stack he's calling it pretty much guaranteed with a lone 7.
IMO you missed out on a lot of value (~40BBs). |
