Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
eff yoo. bet or c/r river and how much to bet if i bet. as i said, i wasnt paying attention to bet sizes, yes i should bet more on the turn, but he bet the flop so weakly, i dont really mind it that much looking back... i expect him to have like JJ here more often than AA, right?

[ QUOTE ] you don't think he ever bets? i thought he could be floating the turn since c/c-lead on literally the driest board possible looks like bs with twp's image. and i don't see why he K9+ won't value bet if checked to, and pay off since it looks like a tailor made "turn 55 into a bluff spot" for someone with a spewy image like twp. but i guess we lose too much vs JJ- [/ QUOTE ] eh - i was joking? just looks like twp wants to get as little money in here as possible. [/ QUOTE ] yeah i thought you were mocking my post because theyre so similar |

Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
stack sizes seem to favor a check raise here, but i don't think you get paid by v much.
you could lead and hope he has KQ and raises. |

Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
On the way you played it - time down and then pot bet. He'll definitely look you up with top 2 paying anything up to a pot sized bet IMHO. Having said that, he appears smart enough to not go broke with top 2, too which leads to some people saying c/r.
So...I think he'll definitely call 2 hundy if you lead. He's only got a set to be worried about, which, yes, you have but with Top 2 he's definitely looking up when there's nothing else to be scared of. If you go for c/r: a) there's a chance he could be super nitty and check behind or b) he'll bet 2/3 - 3/4 pot...you'll check raise to...eh, insignificant, I think he could be good enough to get away from his hand if you c/r. Point is, I think you're getting ever so slightly more value out of leading river. You've called out of the SB, c/c flop, lead turn. his setdar is probably up at this point and if you suddenly check river, he's gotta smell a rat... Don't give him a chance to make the nitty play by either checking behind (nittski check albeit) or folding to a c/r. I've rambled but yes, definitely time down and lead for full pot. |

Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
Is it profitable to play to preflop like this?

Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
I think he'll call with a lot of hands he might check behind (KT? KJ?), so I'd just bet. Maybe $140?

Re: bottom set K high board, Q on river v PFR
I agree with check-raising the flop and firing both turn and river, but is preflop a clear fold in this spot? I always call but that might be a leak.
