You could get a piece of oosik. I've seen it cut and polished and used for pocket, hunting and kitchen knives. When cut and polished it looks great, and only someone familiar with it would know what you had.

edited to add:
I've only seen it in a fossilized state, several hundred years old. When cut and polished it looks like petrified wood, which would also make an interesting card protector, perfect for us old fossils who prefer limit Omaha 8/B.

there was some old dude at canterbury a couple weeks ago who had a big gold ring with a flat part on it on his pinky and every single hand that he played he would take it off and put it on his cards, and then pick it up and put it back on his finger at the conclusion of the hand. Hilarious.
