At the time I played this I figured at least one of these guys and maybe two had me beat, but there is so much money in the pot can is this a good spot to gambool a bit? I'm also worried here about MP2 shoving since he's a shorty. No real reads on opponents, table was fairly wild, but noone had done anything really goofy at the orbit or so I had been seated. |

Fold. I usually only play 99 in this position for set value, and I don't think you have enough odds to call because of that. After a 3-bet it's very likely that you are dominated by a higher PP.

Re: NL10 99 preflop with random betting and stack sizings
Capt, I think unless I REALLY wanted to gambool I'd fold. If it was just against two short stacks I'd proceed but you also have the other villain (BB) who has you covered. Since UTG was willing to voluntarily throw his last little bit in there pf, I'm thinking he's pretty satisfied with hand already. Maybe you'll hit a set but otherwise you've got enough people in that I'm not feeling too good about getting to the river with 99 still being good.
Just my $.02... |

I would fold. MP2 is yet to act and may go all in as well. You may end up paying 4.40 to see the flop. That is more than I want to pay with that hand. You have to pay a lot to hopefully get a set, and if you do get it, two players will probably be all in.

Yeah, I folded. Of, course a 9 hits the flop. Just making sure I was right.

Re: NL10 99 preflop with random betting and stack sizings
I couldn't quite follow the numbers (UTG has 2.15 but raises to 2.55?) anyhow, by the time the bet comes to you it's about 6.50 in the pot, the bet is nearly 2 bucks and someone else may reraise behind you. You need at least 8 to 1 to make this call profitable for set value because your pair is definitely no good. So, no way hosay.
Of course the 9 came on the flop, the casinos do that just to taunt you. Had you bet, it wouldn't have come. |
