Re: 6c6h 2/5 NL 1800 bucks deep, GS covers
you bet 200 dollars into a pot of over 900 dollars (i think...read through it quickly).
i mean come on...i don't understand your bet at all. and i don't understand why you think the river is the spot to make money. you let him potentially draw really cheaply. i mean at least explain ur reasoning. i don't understand posts where the OP leaves out the most crucial information of the hand. i said "i don't understand" a lot in this post. meh im going to bed. |

Re: 6c6h 2/5 NL 1800 bucks deep, GS covers
i hate the river bet. there is nothing he can call you with and he sounds like the type that would raise some wacky straight made with the Axo.
that said haven arrived at this point i prolly call, as you may have succesfully induced a bluff from the bare ace. if he did show you the nut flush i like his play (not that i think there is much chance that happened). |

Re: 6c6h 2/5 NL 1800 bucks deep, GS covers
Yeah, I def called his river bet. I felt that the only way to make any money with this hand was to get a c/r on the river and that's how it went down.
He showed AdKh. No one raises turn? I thought about it for sure. But do you call the push? I think you have to. Is the consensus to check behind on river? |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I don't understand the point of betting this river unless it's to induce a bluff from the bare Ad, so you should be calling this. What can he just call here with that you beat? [/ QUOTE ] Its hard to even follow your description but, I agree waht are you doing on the river bet. He isnt folding a flush and isnt calling with pair plus A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. If you have him pegged at no flush and count on him bluff raising then great play, and obv. call. But I doubt thats what you were up to. [/ QUOTE ] Inducing a bluff on the river was my plan all along. It worked out in this case. If I bet strong on turn given the exact stacks, it is like saying i don't believe you. He has no implied odds so he can only rr all in as a bluff or fold and I thought he would fold very often given stacks. If i thought he would bluff all in on teh turn. I would have raised there. |

Re: 6c6h 2/5 NL 1800 bucks deep, GS covers
Check the river because betting puts you in a terrible spot. He will never fold anything that beats you or pay you off with worse. Whats worse is when he raises your river bet, you will have to make a potentially big -ev call.
Betting that river is just bad poker. |
