Re: NL 25 87-line check
I disagree with a lot of responses. A raise with that many players on that flop is ominous. Note that we have next to zero hands on villain, and especially lack any evidence that s/he plays draws like this. Most of the time villain has an 8 (nearly always with a better kicker) or a king. Since we want to lose the least to another 8 and keep villain in the hand with a king, hero should play more passively. I suggest calling the flop raise and check-calling most turns. On that particular turn I would check raise. Preflop, flop, I play it the same. |

Re: NL 25 87-line check
grunch
With the flop raise, I'm putting MP2 on Kx. If he had KK or AK he would have raised after two players had already limped, and the odds of him having the case 8 with a better kicker are low. So here a re-raise of slightly more than the pot is fine, and calling his all-in is fine. I'm guessing he hit his two-outer for full over full? Oh well. Most likely, you got your money in when you had the best hand and were unlikely to be outdrawn. That's the best you can hope for. |

Re: NL 25 87-line check
I don't think you did anything wrong, other that maybe over-betting the flop a bit. If villain has a King, that heavy re-raise might convince him he's beat. I'd rather see KQ KJ KT or some call here, and unless he's super loose, he might fold to the $10 raise. I think more often than not, you only get any action here from someone with an 8, which probably has you out-kicked.
But yeah, I think my stack is going in with this hand, sooner or later. |

If all the money goes in generally you are only getting called by a better kicker. Against this villain I would be more prepared to get my chips in given his stats but generally over playing trips is a big mistake that players make. |
