Live deep 2/5 - flush draw...
Involved stacks are:
Hero (Button): $800 Villain (SB): covers hero Hero has a weak-tight image, villain is new to table from a broken game and was way up from that game. Seems tight agressive and recently won a big hand at this table too. Hero has: K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Several limpers, hero makes it $25 to pickup $, SB makes it $70, folds around to hero who calls. Flop: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain bets $150 Hero shoves for $730 Question: How often does villain need to fold to make this play make sense? Can this play EVER make sense? I know fold PF might be the "right" play here, so you don't have to point that out. Obviously it didn't end well for hero lol - but I'm curious if the play ever made sense or if it was just nothing but stupid the whole way. |

Re: Live deep 2/5 - flush draw...
I don't play alot live but..
preflop seems pretty terrible. I just limp along here. I think the flop is standard with all the money already in there. Just stick it through pokerstove with a range. I mean you prob have 12 outs twice here and a bunch of fold equity against non AK/AQ type hands. |

Re: Live deep 2/5 - flush draw...
limp or raise more preflop, calling the additional 45 is fine for sure with the dead money and position. flop push looks good.

You're 50/50 or better vs his range, once you get to the flop easy push.

Re: Live deep 2/5 - flush draw...
25 never gets the money preflop b/c 40 usually wont. Not a bad shove on the flop. You are flipping vs. JJ and fold it sometimes along with many other hands. Noone ever folds QQ or KK here ever.

He was SO on the fence I swear I think he would have folded QQ for sure and KK over 50% of the time. Turn and river bricked, AA took down $1620ish pot. |
