Opponent is a solid player - 16/9/1.14 over 220 hands. Is calling the right play here? Or my hand is likely to be beat?

Combodraw, m/b overpair, two pair or set are the most likly holdings.
Your ahead a fair amount of the time here |

I could call that, I think I would expect to see two pair here or a badly played overpair. I think you can discount sets from the lack of preflop raising.
JQ is the only hand you fear, but I think you see it infrequently enough in this situation to call. |

Opponent is a NIT - 16/9/1.14 over 220 hands. [/ QUOTE ] FYP That said, you still call because you're ahead of everything except QJ and villian plays it the same way with 88,99,TT, or basically any 2-pair. |

call you are most likely ahead... but why are you limping in pre-flop when you are first to act? Even though this time the flop was nice you should probably be folding 67s from the cutoff when everyone has folded before you. You should at least raise.

This is pretty much why we are playing this hand here, to hit something hard on the flop.
Don't see how you fold this here, QJ/j7 being the only hand that beats you, and just as likely that you are against a 2pair hand. As for folding 67s from the cutoff, there are times when this would be right, such as against a real aggresive button, but I have no real problem with a limp here if the blinds are tight such as this BB. These hands play really well against many opponents, not heads up. Generally I am advocating raising whenever you open up into the pot, but this is a situation where it is not wrong to limp. |
