(Party $10+1) TPBK facing open push after steal attempt
Party $10+1 $4k GTD. 100 of 416 left, 40 itm (but I play to win 1k first prize)
I moved to that table recently and won two big pots with pocket aces and pocket jacks. I figured UTG doensn't have anything (j8o in fact) nor does the first caller, so I raise to get heads up with the short stack and added money. No read on the vilian but there are about 50% donkeys in the tournament. Party Poker No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t200/t400 9 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t790 UTG+1: t9080 MP1: t13340 Hero: t13220 MP3: t35995 CO: t6400 Button: t3252 SB: t19495 BB: t24600 Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG raises all-in t790, UTG+1 calls t790 (pot was t1390), MP1 calls t790 (pot was t2180), Hero raises to t2800, 3 folds, SB calls t2600 (pot was t5770), BB folds, UTG+1 calls t2010 (pot was t8370), MP1 folds. MP1 flat calls? Daring someone else to get involved?
Fold that [censored] preflop ... fold to the AI |

Fold Pre flop I would also fold on the flop too much that you are behind

UTG+1's call seems awfully scary to me. I'd fold. I mean PF. And yeah, fold on the flop too.

If you are going to throw your chips around preflop, you gotta follow through here and call this and try to triple up.
SB can do this with a flush draw or 88-KK. As a matter of fact, I'll bet a hundred dollars on the flush draw Alex. |

Re: (Party $10+1) TPBK facing open push after steal attempt
After a lot of hesitation I finally made a crying call.
Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (t10380, 3 players + 1 all-in - Main pot: t4350, Sidepot 1: t6030) SB is all-in t16695, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls all-in t10420. Uncalled bets: t6275 returned to SB. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (t31220, 0 player + 3 all-in - Main pot: t4350, Sidepot 1: t26870) River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t31220, 0 player + 3 all-in - Main pot: t4350, Sidepot 1: t26870) Results in white below: Final pot: t31220 SB shows Ad Kc UTG shows 8h Jd Hero shows 5d Ah Ship it! I lost a few pots afterwards though, stole some chips on the bubble, but busted a little later. |

Re: (Party $10+1) TPBK facing open push after steal attempt
Fold preflop, fold flop. SB called your re-raise cold with 2 people behind him who'd already shown interest. He is quite strong, and you can safely put him on the kind of hand that he actually had. When he pushes that flop, I'd put him on little else. The flush draw is possible, but if that's what he had it's too likely that someone else behind him has the AK and will look him up.

No one has mentioned that your isolation raise is WAY too small anyway.
As everyone else did mention, fold pf, fold flop. |
