Tyson Streib Continuation Bet Article (May)
Thanks for giving some evidence for my claim that the continuation bet is over-used.
I know I should probably learn to do this myself, but have you done data on how continuation bets fare depending on position? For example, if a pot is vs two opponents, how does a c-bet's effectiveness vary depending on whether you are first, second, or last to act on the flop? I'm surprised that c-betting paired flops is more successful than unpaired flops, just because it seems that so many players won't fold ace-high or like to play back at me on paired flops. |

Re: Tyson Streib Continuation Bet Article (May)
I assume that the bets for different flops are also for different amounts. For instance, the general wisdom is that a C-bet should be larger on a flop of 8s 9s Kd than a flop of Js Jd 4h. It would be interesting to see the data further broken down by amount on various flops, as well as position.

Re: Tyson Streib Continuation Bet Article (May)
One of the few stats that I use from Poker Office as an overlay is the continuation bet percentage. It's easy many times to make a decision when you see that someone makes a continuation bet 100% of the time. Very nice article.

can you tell us: what was the size of the data set? [/ QUOTE ] The $10 set contained 662,148 hands, and from that there were 40,646 times where someone made a bet on the flop. Tysen |
