Re: fold AA to scary board against push?
My advice is to push harder faster. The flop was excellent for you so fire out a potsized he's probably game since he really doesn't seem to want to give up his cards. if he has AKd you're boned(which is among those hands that match his bets). Oh well. You push hard and fast here and you don't look back.
DOn't minraise preflop, you have a hand big enough you don't want anyone to think you're on a middle holding they should draw against. Move it to 900 PF and all in on the flop. (on another flop you might check, but this one may have hit his hand well enough you want come out firing). Fire until all your chips are in the middle because you have exactly the sort of hand you want in this situation. He may have made a split, or a flush but in this case you need to move things to the middle and not cry if it goes south. |

I explained the reason for this minraise on the flop. It was a setup from the previous hand. I'm really interested in opinions on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] The point is that if you play better PF and on the flop, there won't be anything to say about the turn b/c all your chips will be in the middle or the hand will be over. |

Re: fold AA to scary board against push?
One more thing, there is a big difference between a min-raise and a min-reraise. The min-reraise is still not likely going to get cold-called by anyone. Only one other person is in the pot, and I want to be HU with him with position. The same thing is going to happen whether I bet another 300 or another 600, except in the latter I'm less likely to get called by hands I want to get called by.
Now, let's forget about that. |

I'm not saying it was a terrible play but you should consider why it isnt the best play if you want your game to progress |

Re: fold AA to scary board against push?
this is terrible:
"I min-reraised with AK, he pushed and I folded." this is worse: "UTG raises to t300, 1 fold, Hero raises to t500" actually... folding your AK might be worse then minraising AA; either way both are beyond bad. |

Re: fold AA to scary board against push?
Well, I'm glad that everyone here is smart enough to have a light bulb go off when they see the phrase "minraise." It's too bad that no one here is capable of interpreting a hand beyond one word and actually answering the question that was asked.
I was really hoping that with all the good players here that someone could help interpret villain's moves on three different streets and help me come up with a range of holdings for him that would tell me what the right decision was on the turn. Maybe that's too complicated for some of you guys. I think everytime I get a premium hand preflop I'm just going to push. That's a good, simple, knee-jerk strategy that will help you avoid having to read a hand. I'll go back to my other board. Thanks for reminding me why I don't post here very much. |
