Re: Why one should FPS as a villager
By faking seer, I mean implying seer, implying that one is a power role, giving out effective peeks. Acting dmkish, not being Luckay and saying "I'm the seer, even when I'm not."
Replace faking seer with protecting the seer by confusing wolves (and villagers, out of necessity, and because until the seer is dead, villagers don't need to know this anyway). |

This has nothing to do with my or your beliefs on this, however, and everything to do with his wolf-finding skill (and his wolfing skill). |

Re: Why one should FPS as a villager
okay, that makes sense. I've started to do this a little bit. I think that's what got me night one killed in the last turbo I played.
By the nature of the game, villagers are in the dark. Your "seer hints" are construed as reads to villagers and peeks to the wolves. I think we're now in agreement. I think. |

Re: Why one should FPS as a villager
I want to start Bizzarro POG. It will be invitation only, and anybody that thinks "faking seer as a villager, but subtly, to protect the real seer" is the #2 priority of a villager is not invited.
Maybe then the games will be as fun as they were when POG started. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's way more important than being an obvious villager (or at least TRYING to be an obvious villager), and way less important than making good reads (this is 90+% of good village games), of course. I think that's about where it should be, anyway. If you can name something I'm missing, then perhaps that will be my new second priority. |

Re: Why one should FPS as a villager
I think providing seer coverage matters not at all.
If you make good reads, you'll get eaten. If the seer is doing a good job of staying hidden (remember, staying alive is the seers responsibility), the wolves will eat somebody who will never be lynched. This is an advantage of being an obvious villager. Or, they'll eat somebody who's made correct reads. If everyone leaves obvious "seer hints", then if the wolves can't find the real seer, they can make kills to help direct the village. Like eating someone who cleared a wolf or condemned a villager. Basically what I'm saying, is if you concern yourself with appearing to be a villager (and yes, it is possible) and with finding wolves, and do it well, you provide the seer cover just through your normal posts. When you go out of your way to provide seer cover, it looks suspicious, and you distract the village from finding the real wolves. |

Re: Why one should FPS as a villager
I've always been of the belief that a villager should play as if there is no seer in the game.
also, lol thread of course |

If you make good reads, you'll get eaten. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I think the difference of opinion here is that the vanillager can word his posts in such a way that makes the wolves think he's the seer. Agree or disagree? You can make the best seer hints in the world, but if you clear a wolf, the wolves aren't going to eat you and the village will possibly "clear" a wolf based on your hint. Am I off base? |
