[ QUOTE ]
tell me you are kidding about the "moran"...if not he didn't misspell, morAn. I guess Aba said it best "lol", but no one at that level wants to be in a 300k pot when they are only about 60-70% sure they have the best of it. If anyone can say "I'll pick a better spot", it's Phil Ivey. Also, in PI's case, he wouldn't have to move down, but many players would have to, thus lowering their real $ win potential. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't read much HSNL, but this is very LOL. |

Re: High Stakes Poker...Ivey Vs. Booth
This is assuming he's always bluffing. He could make the same play had he made the straight he almost hit. If he wouldn't make this bet with a straight, then I would agree it would spewing chips, but if he would put Ivey all in with the straight he could have made, then that puts a lot of pressure on him.
I remember one the pro WPT tournaments, in a similar situation Eric Lindgren went all in, way overbetting the pot, when he made a big hand on the river. His opponent had almost nothing, just a small pair I think. He knew Lindgren would make that bet with only a complete bust or a big hand. He couldn't put Eric on a big hand, so called with a pair of 6's, or something like that. The all-in bet worked, and it worked to a large extent because his opponent knew Lindgren was capable of making the same bet on a bluff. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The raise is 440 BBs approx back to Ivey. 440 BBs!! I think his fold is quite reasonable tbh. [/ QUOTE ] Why should the size of the raise matter? Ivey should fold because it's alot of money to call? Is that how you're justifying the fold? I don't think that's the logic winning players use in making big decisions. [/ QUOTE ] lol [/ QUOTE ] The size of the raise matters if you like money. |
