Default QUICK help with EXTERNAL HD please

sorry for begging, I'm going to be out and want to buy a portable HD

what do i need to look for, and what matters? (RPM/cache buffer, etc)

assume i don't have capability above USB 2.0 and will be moving around files up to about 1GB

is this sufficient for me?

That will be fine for backing up stuff. What else do you want it to do?

The difference between those 500gb of the same brand is the additional eSATA interface, which appears to be super, no, super duper faster than just USB 2.0, and better backup software. I don't know anything about the SATA stuff so I don't know how common the interface is or what it actually looks like.
