Re: Moving from a full ring mentality...
Piscogay is a 13/4 who I have 2,000 hands with and is at 15ptbb/100. (6 max obv). I have a 10/8 making decent money. A 25/5 LOLLL wtf how is he making money. So yeah it's definitely possible at 5/1 if you play reasonably well post flop. I'm not sure if that's a condemnation on 5/1 or not.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] VPIP 5 and PFR 1 and win a good 6max game? How? Noone would give you any action and you don't win enough to cover the blinds. [/ QUOTE ] No I meant 50 cent/ 1 dollar 6 max. My assertion would be that 13/3 could beat 50 cent/ 1 dollar 6 max. [/ QUOTE ] does 13/3 work shortstacking, because otherwise I doubt it [/ QUOTE ] Don't you play 6 max too? Piscogay is super super nitty, but he's definitely a profitable player. |

Re: Moving from a full ring mentality...
A 6max 13/4 can only be profitable against poor opposition and will never be even close to being successful at MSNL. Which basically means all his previous hands are a lot less useful as a training ground.
JMHO. P.S. I'm actually thinking of taking up 6max in order to improve my game as I see how well the 6max players are doing at FR when they move. |

Re: Moving from a full ring mentality...
I've been running 13/3 as well since I started FR 100. If I don't lose my discipline, the games are really easy to crush, as people don't realize what you are doing. I guess it applies to a certain extent to Nl200 as well. I run at about 6 ptBB/100.

Re: Moving from a full ring mentality...
Playing 13/3 means playing pairs up to TT and even JJ for set value. This is not gonna work in 6max...unless you can play post flop perfectly.

[/ QUOTE ] That's pretty much a corollary to my assertion at 5/1. The opposition is so bad at 5/1 that running 13/4 with ABC post flop play can beat the game. With that said a 13/4 would get absolutely slaughtered any higher. |

Re: Moving from a full ring mentality...
I'm a NL $200 veteran and tried out 6-max last week. You definitely have to adjust your play since it's a little trickier. I play a 19/9 FR game and 19/17 6-max game. When i went to play FR again the 19/17 style got me in a lil trouble..lol
