Re: Phil Gordons Little green Book of Holdem (questions)
Start with Green. It's the first of the series and it is more general. It will lead you into Blue, which is hand by hand analysis using the tools you learned in Green. There is also a Black book which is really an intro book. You can buy all 3 as a set on Amazon for a pretty good deal.

Re: Phil Gordons Little green Book of Holdem (questions)
The Gordon books are a great read for both the poker and the entertainment value.
After that, grab Small Stakes Holdem. These few a great, simple means to some lite and easy poker refreshing/beginning. D_D |

Re: Phil Gordons Little green Book of Holdem (questions)
I suggest reading in this order:
1. The Theory of Poker. It is the basis of all other books on poker. Other books will make more sense after reading this one. 2. Holdem Poker by Sklansky. You can't play HE if you don't know how to play the game. 3. Small Stakes Holdem. An excellent read for the low limit games where players tend to play too many hands and go too far with them. 4. HEPFAP. An in-depth treatment of the limit game. A difficult-but essential- read for many reasons. 5. TPFAP. Analagous to ToP as it pertains to tournament theory. The concepts are found in all other tournament books. 6. LGB. Gordon is a top player and this book is how he approches the NLHE game. 7. LBB. Companion to LGB. Real hands that illustrate the ideas from LGB. Nice thing about Gordon is that he is not afraid to admit when he played a hand poorly. By him learning from his errors, we also learn. 8. HoH 1,2,3. Tournament NLHE as explained by one of the best in the business. Some of the concepts are very complex, but it is very well-written. |

Re: Phil Gordons Little green Book of Holdem (questions)
OMG ... Yes, buy Harrington's 3 volume set, and digest all of it! Some of the best poker direction. By the time you get to the third volume, you may find that you don't agree with all his moves. But that is probably the point.
