200 NL: A couple preflop hands with JJ
My image in both hands is Taggish. I'm not a nit but I'm also not going to be 4bet bluffing people a whole lot either.
Hand 1: MP is 47/17. Button is a good thinking player, 24/17 or so. Button and I have a little history of playing pretty light against each other. UTG ($322.15) MP ($263.70) Button ($523.45) SB ($59.15) Hero ($184) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP raises to $6, Button raises to $21, 1 fold, Hero raises to $64, MP folds, Button raises to $523.45, Hero calls $120 (All-In). Flop: ($714.45) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Turn: ($714.45) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) River: ($714.45) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Hand 2: UTG is 21/17. Pretty solid. I'd expect him to shove AA/KK against the squeeze. SB is 31/17. Aggressive and capable of squeezes. I'd normally 3bet this right away, but recently decided I don't cold call enough with big hands. UTG would definitely put me on much weaker hand, as I don't think he's ever seen me slow play at all preflop. BB ($288.20) UTG ($341.75) Hero ($204.40) CO ($338.35) Button ($225.35) SB ($190) Preflop: Hero is MP with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises to $8, Hero calls $8, 1 fold, Button calls $8, SB raises to $33, 1 fold, UTG calls $24, Hero raises to $204.4, |

Re: 200 NL: A couple preflop hands with JJ
When someone 5-bets a cold 4-bet, they have AA/KK every single time. You must fold when button 5-bets especially if he is a good thinking player. I don't hate your initial 4-bet but you must fold to button's push.
Hand two you are getting decent odds to call and hit a set with UTG padding the pot. I like a call of SB's squeeze. If SB is squeezing lite I do like this play because he'll look you up with TT/AQ because your line looks so strange. Still I prefer calling and seeing the flop. |

I think you are overplaying JJ. Keep in mind that with this much aggression preflop, you are playing for set value.

Re: 200 NL: A couple preflop hands with JJ
Hand 1 reminds me of a cr video where I can't remember who did the same thing at 1/2. Saying that he folded to the shove. I prefer calling the 21 and seeing a flop. If he is a thinking tag you are ahead of his range a great deal here. When you 4 bet you only get called or repopped by better.
Hand 2 is sketchy at best, your line doesn't make a whole lot of sense and I can see you getting looked up with qq a lot. |

Re: 200 NL: A couple preflop hands with JJ
Hand one is AA/KK every time.
Hand two, I'm not a big fan of stacking off JJ pf to begin with, but you're getting good odds to see a flop and attempt to hit a set/re-eval where you're at in this hand. |

Re: 200 NL: A couple preflop hands with JJ
But there's so much money in middle in hand 2. Obviously no better hands fold. However, SB is the only one I think that could have a big hand and even then it won't be often. Isn't picking up the pot now better then playing a guessing game in an inflated pot on the flop?
