Default Games Grid Email

I signed up for Games Grid several months back to play in the 2p2 KCL game. I never ended up depositing there, but I did actually create an account.

I heard GG closed it's doors to US players, but I didn't notice too much. Then the other day, 2/10, I got an email from shoutout@gamesgrid-mail.com titlted "important notice regarding games grid" that was blank in the message section. I wanted to see if anyone else got this email, I am paranoid about opening mail lately with all the hacker stories, but my email provider generally scans all incoming messages (and there were no attachments).

TIA

I registered with Games Grid over a year ago and never deposited. I got a similar e-mail a couple of days ago. However, my paranoia runs deep and I deleted it without opening it.

Games Grid has closed to US players for real-money games.

The address you gave is legitimate from GG. They use that for promo's.

They started moronizing their emails a while back so that they don't show up in Gmail any more. With "view original" you can see the text:

Dear Valued Player,

We have recently experienced some unexpected technical issues which required immediate attention. The problem has been resolved, however a NEW version of our Poker client is required.

To download the new client simply follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs
Step 2: Find GamesGrid Poker in the list and click the Remove button to uninstall it
Step 3: Download the latest client installer from <a href="http://www.gamesgrid.com/download-center.html">http://www.gamesgrid.com/download-center.html</a>
Step 4: Run GGSetup.exe once it has finished downloading
Step 5: Your existing username and password will continue to work

Further to this, due to recent changes in the US legislation, we regret that we can no longer continue to allow US players access to our money tables. All players who have an account registered with a US country code will no longer have access to our money tables, however will still be allowed access to our free money tables.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

A friend of mine says he got the following email from their support when he asked how to withdraw his money:

Hello XXXXXX,

You recently received an email regarding your Skill Games (GamesGrid,
Tony G Poker) account. Due to recent changes in the US legislation, we
regret that we can no longer continue to allow US players access to our
money tables. All players who have an account registered with a US
country code will no longer have access to our money tables; however will
still be allowed access to our free money tables.

We are without payout options for US customers, but will transfer funds
to you via an account on one of the following three sites: Full Tilt
Poker, Poker Stars or Ultimate Bet. If you have an account on one of
these sites, skip to #4. If you do not have an account, please follow
these instructions precisely:

1.Go to this page http://tonyg.pokerworks.com/
2.Choose one of the three links on the left side (Full Tilt Poker,
Poker Stars, or Ultimate Bet).
3.Create a real money account on the site you have chosen.
4. Once the account has been created, send reply email to support
detailing the following.
- Your Skill Games ID (Tony G Poker, GamesGrid)
- The amount you want transferred
- Site (Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars, or Ultimate Bet) you want
your funds transferred to.
- Player ID on the site you want your funds transferred to.

Your request will be processed as quickly as possible.
