Wet Hot American Summer : This is about a Jewish summer camp in the early 80s. This has all the people from The State, Amy Poehler, Janine Garofalo, and Paul Rudd and Christopher Meloni in their greatest roles ever. I love this movie. [/ QUOTE ] not obscure at all but an awesome movie nonetheless |

Sticking with my theme here of French noire:
Riffifi is a stunning good movie that everyone who likes crime movies should see. It features a heist scene of nearly 30 minutes which is in total silence. Such a brave move by the director that totally works. KJS |

Brain Candy : This is The Kids in the Hall movie. It is about the creation of an anti-depression drug. It rules. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I was lucky enough to see it in the theater; I think it closed midway through opening weekend. Also, ridiculously good soundtrack. |

Le Grand Bleu, Luc Besson's early work before he started making total crap. [/ QUOTE ] Seconded, of course I know it as The Big Blue, this movie has gorgeous cinematography and Jean Reneu is fantastic in it. I highly recommend this as well. |

[ QUOTE ] I actually dont know if its obscure, but the movie Thursday, is a must see imo. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124901/ [/ QUOTE ] quids you are an awesome poster. This movie is VERY rad. I met Thomas Jane at an HBO party in Las Vegas and brought this movie up to him and he was blown away that I referenced him. He said they made the movie for about a million bucks. He said that Paula was all that...... Both TJ and the evil old friend in the movie have made quite a name for themselves in Hollywood since "Thursday". FYC [/ QUOTE ] If anyone hasn't seen this movie yet they need to see it, definitely a fantastic flick, not sure if it can be classified as obscure though. |

Guaranteed suckitude. KJS |

Re: obscure MUST SEE movies
One of my favorite movies is Dlug ("The Debt"), a Polish film. Two young entrepreneurs in early postcommunist Poland are denied a business loan and turn to a casual acquaintance of one of the men for help. Mob connections and extortion ensue. Good times for all.
