New DVD recorder for desktop computer. Any advice?
What model/brand would you suggest?

Re: New DVD recorder for desktop computer. Any advice?
If you are just talking about a DVD-RW (burner) for your desktop, I personally don't think brand/models matter too much. I've had some off brands that worked great and some name brands (Sony etc) that didn't and vice versa. I'd go to NewEgg.com and look for one with a good price and great reviews. I'm actually a fan of Lite-on because they are affordable and have held up great for me. Still nothing wrong with the other brands though and the prices on these burners is ultra cheap now days.
Good luck. - Jason |

Depending on your use, media is much more important than the burner. I've only ever used IDE/single-layer but liked my liteons. In looking at building a new computer I see that almost universally ppl have been giving the NEC high marks (model 11-something or something-11). I don't know anything about SATA or dual-layer drives/media.

Lite-on is good and usually a great price. Mine is a NEC and works great.
