WTF? Drop the frikin bball games and buy a ticket to the Leafs. Who visits Canada to see basketball? That's like someone in India coming to the USA for a cricket match.

Err, maybe the guy doesn't like hockey. Not to mention it isn't like you can just walk up to gate and purchase tickets for a Leafs game - and I don't think a casual fan is going to want to dish out for scalper prices.

Not to mention the Leafs are lame and watching a hockey game at the ACC is painful. 18000+ season tickets and most of them corporate... yawn. The place has no energy. You get more bang for your buck at a Raptors game.

I know you can't go to the gate and purchase tickets, but there are other ways. Save the $100 (don't know how much Raptors tickets cost) and put it towards a Leafs game. I see tickets going for $70 on stubhub... it will be cheaper in the classifieds/craigslist. There's not a single person on this planet that can attend a live hockey game and not enjoy themselves. It's just not possible.

lol,

yea, I'm from Calgary, so I get plenty of hockey,
and catching a ball game is definitely something I've wanted to do for a while.

In terms of food, yea, I've heard CN tower food sucks.
Not sure what Collegetown or the other place mentioned serves,
but I'm always down for a good steak, as well as open minded for all other types of cuisine, pasta, sushi, indian.
Recommendation for truffles would be appreciated as well.

Okay, here's 5 places I really like and have been to in the last two months or so (so they shouldn't have changed much).

Red's Bistro
77 Adelaide St. W. (Financial District)
Elite wine list, deep cheese list, continental cuisine, about $100 per head with wine. This is my favorite "special occasion" restaurant in T.O.

Fuzion
580 Church St. (Gay town, not that there's anything wrong with that)
Obscure wine list (can be fun or annoying), fusion cuisine (duh), about $100 per head with wine. This is place is new, so there are some "wrinkles" (music too loud, wait staff not completely up to snuff) but I was very impressed.

Mammina's
6 Wellesley St. W. (Gay town)
Very small (seats about 30 so definitely reservations required), italian cuisine, BYOB for wine (they also have wine but you can bring your own to save money), really friendly (run by two brothers) and good staff. About $60 per person with wine.

Ki
181 Bay St. (Financial District)
Sophisticated Japanese cuisine, nice atmosphere and staff, best to go in a group and order the "fixed" menu for dinner (they bring out about 8 courses of one or two pieces each, spread out over the evening). About $60 per person.

Messi
97 Harbord St. (The "Annex" (trendy area near University of Toronto))
French/Italian cuisine, good wines, friendly staff. Atmosphere is a bit loud and dark, but I've had some fantastic food there. About $85 per person with wine.

If you plan on going up the CN Tower but not have dinner, make a dinner reservation anyways. You get to go up the tower with no charge, just don't show up for the reservation.

I've never tried this, but I've done dinner up there twice, and I'm assuming it would work.

QFT. But it's a bit out of the way. If you're going to hit the Rail - pay the $20 to get upstairs. Money well spent.
